Progress, Giveaway Reminder & a Product Review

Hey, everyone! It's almost the end of April and the weather here in Florida has been beyond weird for South Florida. Usually by now it's hot enough to fry an egg on the sidewalk. While it is still hot as heck, it's not beyond suffocating when you step out the door. The evenings are even cooler, too. Pretty sure this has a lot to do with the almost halt the world came to last year due to Covid, but I'm no scientist so don't take my word for that!

Progress

I've started making serious progress on the sequel to my first novel Touch Me Gently. A type of ten year in the future event. I broke 40k words last night so I'm super excited about that. I hope to get that done very soon and have it ready to go before Summer begins. Of course, that could be being optimistic, but hey, it's what I am aspiring for.

Product Review

The week before last while my roommate and I went out to the pet store for some supplies, one of the cats got on the stove and turned on the gas! Needless to say, it was good we weren't gone more than an hour! The whole reeked of rotten eggs and it was awful. One spark and we could have lost everything! Including our furry babies we love. Their loss would have been the most devastating for sure!

Well, I ended up buying some of those baby proof plastic covers for the knobs, hoping it would help. They say universal, but really aren't. We have a pretty significant gap behind the knobs so the plastic bubble thingies were too big. In order to open them, I would pretty much have to pull the knobs off the stove entirely. If I opened the oven door, they would all get pulled off because they dropped so far down that they overlapped the oven door a smidge.

Really these are meant for stoves that either the knobs are in a different location or they fit tighter to the stove surface which mine don't. Most likely due to the model and age of the stove. Otherwise, they were a great little product to stop the cats from turning on the stove, lol. I've gone back to the drawing board to try a different type since these didn't work.
